High tech vehicles
Every vehicle in our (100+) fleet is temperature-controlled.
But we go further than that.
Each unit is fitted with a pre-heat feature, for use in severe winter conditions. Complete cooling/heating management is achieved within 15 minutes of refrigeration units being activated, regardless of the external weather conditions.
At the end of 2009 our entire fleet was converted to handle both cold chain (+2oc to +8oc) and temperate (+15oc to +25oc) transportation requirements, as set down by the MRHA.
In addition every vehicle is fitted with calibrated on-board temperature recorders - as well as alarms to alert drivers should a temperature excursion occur.
And we have combined this sophisticated temperature control technology with a satellite navigation system so we always know the ‘live’ location of our vehicles. At the same time clients can check the real-time delivery status and temperature of inpidual consignments via our POLARTRACK online portal.
100% Multi Temperature Fleet
When it comes to the delivery of medication that is temperature sensitive, EU regulations are very stringent. It’s understandable, as medication can often be for critical conditions, so a flux in temperature could prove disastrous. Whether clients require medication refrigerated or transported in a temperate environment (15°-25°C), all Polar Speed vans now cater for both.
From March 2010 the company is able to offer a 100% multi temperature fleet. And 20 new vans join the existing fleet already serving healthcare clients nationwide. It’s also good to know, that outstanding temperature control, doesn’t come at a hefty price. In fact, charges may be on par with your existing parcel service.
Temperature control even extends to 40,000 square feet of Polar Speed warehouses. So, whether it’s a scorching summer, or freezing winter your medical consignment will always arrive at a guaranteed temperature.
