Can you handle our complex business requirements?
We can handle any size of healthcare business but we prefer to keep within our niche market of temperature-controlled. Big projects aren’t a problem, it just means more time is required to plan, prepare and implement – but that would be the same for any logistics company.
We pride ourselves on the retention of clients and we only agree to start new projects if we know we can deliver to a high standard. Our good reputation has taken time to earn, so we will not jeopardise this for short-term expediency.
Do you service Europe?
Only on a dedicated basis using our own vehicles, although we have a partnership with a specialist pharmaceutical air freight company called Pharmafreight on the continent who can arrange deliveries into Europe that satisfy both the legislative and our own high standards. This is a long standing relationship, and is often used by our clients. What is POLARTRACK?
POLARTRACK is our web portal, though which our clients can find everything they need to know about their consignments – the precise location, status and temperature – all in a real-time scenario.
What is Masternaut?
Masternaut is a fantastic GPS system which lives within our POLARTRACK portal - it allows customers to watch where their consignments are ‘on the road’ and monitor the temperatures at which they are being transported.
Can Polar Speed take title of stock?
Yes we currently do this for a number of clients, supply hospitals and wholesalers. This is of course a prerequisite with our home delivery service.
What's your postcode coverage like?
We have an up to date postcode matrix on our Polartrack system. We effectively cover nearly 99 per cent of orders taken in our own vehicles.
Do you do same-day deliveries?
This can only be guaranteed if we have advanced notice. It is unlikely to be available if you make contact on the day required as we like to maximise usage of our drivers and vehicles on our overnight service.
Do you do weekend deliveries?
Yes, we do this regularly – but usually on an ad-hoc basis. If you need it we will find a way.
How do I open an account?
Very simple. Just contact our office and we will send a form and subject to credit checks it can be set-up in a matter of days.
What's your pricing?
Our price structure is surprisingly reasonable when compared to ‘conventional’ parcel carriers – particularly considering the additional regulatory requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. Consequently our customers don’t think we’re expensive. And of course economies of scale come into the equation for large volumes.
Can you handle frozen goods?
Not normally. A full frozen food distribution service is only possible when using the correct vehicles and warehousing facilities - our trunking and depot infra-structure is actually focused on the pharmaceutical industry and is therefore only validated for chill and temperate traffic. However, because all of our vehicles are temperature-controlled we can reconfigure them to frozen in an emergency. As with all things we're very flexible.
